A little kid, standing there alone.
Left behind, by the ones he loves.
Why can't people see who he is?
Why can't we reach out for him?
Help him around, back to the path of light.

The little boy, sitting in the grass.
Eating some bread, and how happy he seems.
Why can't people look through that image?
Why can't we try to see something?
Help him around, back to a better life.

Left alone, that same little kiddo.
Beaten up by his father,
Yelled at by his mother.
Yet, he stands there, tight and strong.
So no one calmes him, they worry about his dad.

His dad, with the knife in his back.
Why can't we see, why are we blind?
Can't we see what let it come to this.
The kid, left alone with his mum.
Stroke his dad, without hesitation.

No one sees, the scars.
Everyone believes, he'll be fine.
Let me tell you something new,
We are just too blind to see,
This little kid's a little kid now.

But he'll grow up soon,
Be the same person as us.
Maybe he will not hang on for so long,
But eventually he will become,
Just as blind to see as we.

Ik vind hem erg mooi alleen de laatste zin verbreekt het ene beetje, dat zou misschien iets mooier zijn als je het veranderde naar iets onheilspellendere woorden. Iets als This little kid's not going to be here to see much longer. Maar een tip hoor ^^. Ik vind hem zo ook al super!
