Pride and Prejudice

Ik heb een gedicht geschreven, met inspiratie van Pride and Prejudice van Jane Austen, de scene waarin Mr. Darcy (<3) voor de eerste keer zijn huwelijksaanzoek aan Lizzy doet
Your eyes are so cold
How can they love me?
How can you desire without warmth?
Your words are like stones
Piling above me
How can you smile without charm?
Why aren't your eyes sparkling for me
When your words say you want me the most?
Why do you think you would fit me
When your love isn't something you show?
You didn't show any kindness
No sweet word you ever said
Refusing your rude proposal
Is something I'll never regret.

Your eyes are so cold
How can they love me?
How can you desire without warmth?
Your words are like stones
Piling above me
How can you smile without charm?
Why aren't your eyes sparkling for me
When your words say you want me the most?
Why do you think you would fit me
When your love isn't something you show?
You didn't show any kindness
No sweet word you ever said
Refusing your rude proposal
Is something I'll never regret.
